Plenary meetings of the ICRM are held biennially and have developed into a successful instrument of communication among various specialists, thus encouraging international co-operation. The most recent in the series of ICRM meetings, the "17th International Conference on Radionuclide Metrology and its Applications," September 7 - 11, 2009, was hosted by the SMU (Slovak Institute of Metrology) at their labs in Bratislava, Slovakia. The local organization was undertaken by the SMU, Bratislava, Slovakia.
The next biennial conference of the ICRM, the "18th International Conference on Radionuclide Metrology and its Applications," will be hosted by the NMIJ/AIST (National Metrology Institute of Japan, Advanced Industrial Science and Technology) in Tsukuba, Japan from September 19 - 23, 2011. The Low-Level Measurement Techniques working group will organize a conference in 2012 (4 years after the last conference), tentatively in Korea at the KRISS. Additional information will be forthcoming.
