U.S. Visa Policy

If you are not a citizen of one of the above countries, apply for your visa as soon as possible. The U.S. Visa Policy Web Site currently states that while most visa administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of application, before making inquiries about the status of your visa application you will need to wait at least 90 days after the date of interview or submission of supplemental documents, whichever is later. In the experience of our International and Academic Affairs Office, most scientists entering on a B-1 visa to attend an international conference will be able to get a visa within 1 month, but please allow additional time.
