References and Notes for Lithium ( Li )

APS71     Y. Accad, C. L. Pekeris, and B. Schiff, Phys. Rev. A 4, 516 (1971).

C84       R. Crossley, J. Opt. Soc. Am. B 1, 266 (1984).

DM01      G. W. F. Drake and W. C. Martin, unpublished (2001). The data are based on accurate new energy-level calculations for 7Li II. In addition to a lowering of the ionization energy of[HM59] by 1.00 cm-1 the results indicate that the 1s3p 1P°, 1s4s, 5s, 6s 1S and 1s4d-8d 1D level values of [HM59] are 0.3 cm-1 too high with respect to their more accurately determined levels. Accurate calculated term values for 1s4p 1P° and 1s5p 1P° levels disagree with the values in [HM59], in accordance with the conclusions of Crossley [C84] and the calculations of Accad, et al. [APS71].

FW96      J. R. Fuhr and W. L. Wiese, NIST Atomic Transition Probability Tables, CRC Handbook of Chemistry & Physics, 77th Edition, D. R. Lide, Ed., CRC Press, Inc., Boca Raton, FL (1996).

HM59      G. Herzberg and H. R. Moore, Can. J. Phys. 37, 1293 (1959). The data pertain to the 7Li isotope. The wavelengths for some of the stronger lines and the values for the triplet levels are weighted averages of large hyperfine structures, for some of which the resolved components are given in [HM59]. The ionization energy and, consequently, all excited levels from this reference have been lowered by 1.00 cm-1 [DM01]. Although higher accuracy measurements of the 1s2p 3P° separation have been made more recently [RGKP93], we have for consistency retained the term values (positions with respect to the limit) for these levels from [HM59].
